1. What this service is
Merchant Pay lets you pay businesses that have signed an agreement with us. You can pay a bill, split a bill with other people at the same business, and add a tip. Every payment goes to the business. You cannot send money to another person, and we do not hold a balance for you.

2. Who takes your card
Stripe takes your card payment. Your card number goes only to Stripe; we never see or keep it.

3. Your PIN and your phone
You sign in with a code we text to your phone and confirm every payment with your PIN. Keep both private. Tell us at once if you think someone else used your account.

4. Refunds
Ask the business for a refund from your receipt. If the business agrees, the money goes back to your card.

5. Problems and unauthorized payments
Report a wrong or unauthorized payment from your receipt or the Problems page as soon as you can, and within 60 days of the payment. We look into every report and answer within 10 business days, or within 45 days if we need more time, and tell you what we found.

6. Notices
By agreeing, you choose to get receipts and notices by email and text message instead of on paper. You can ask for a paper copy or withdraw this choice through Help at any time.

7. Where the service is offered
The service is offered in California.

8. Closing your account
You can close your account in Settings. We keep payment records as long as the law requires and then delete them.
